DEMOCRAT, EXTRA 12th Regiment! Correct List of the Killed, Wounded and Missing!
(from newspaper article-no date)
[We are under
obligations to Seargent Geo. B. Lane for the following accurate
list of the casualties in the 12th regiment in the recent
terrific battles. It is truly reported that no regiment in the
field behaved more nobly than this, mantaining its position
bravely while others fell back in disorder and confusion, and
until most of its numbers were literally mown down. All honor to
the brave N.H. 12th and its sleeping heroes.--ED. LACONIA

The ground on which many of our dead and wounded lay is still disputed and the men cannot be brought off, consequently it is impossible to give a correct report at this time. This morning we had but one hundred and ten enlisted men and eleven Commissioned Officers present for duty. Capt. Thos. E. Barker is in command of the Regiment, Major Langley is sick at the Hospital. GEO. B. LANE, Commissary Sargt. 12th N.H.V.
This is taken from an article in an old ledger I have. do is ditto. I have copied as best as I can. The two (?) I could not make out the letters.
